About Dr. Foster-Smith
Elizabeth Foster-Smith, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and a staff member at CEH. She has been part of the CEH family since 2015, and brings expertise conducting comprehensive psychological assessments and implementing evidence-based treatments for clients.
As a therapist, Dr. Foster-Smith utilizes evidence-based practice in implementing treatments. She is proficient in using the treatment modalities Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and has worked with a number of psychological disorders including generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, specific phobias, and social phobia.
Dr. Foster-Smith also has extensive experience conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations. She is particularly experienced in conducting forensic assessments (e.g. insanity evaluations, competence to stand trial, juvenile transfers) and has testified on a number of occasions. She also is experienced in answering questions outside of the psycho-legal arena. For example, she has experience evaluating sleeping difficulties, and assessing psychopathology for the purposes of treatment planning.
Dr. Foster-Smith received a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Drexel University. She has provided psychological services in a variety of clinical settings including hospitals, an outpatient anxiety disorder clinic, correctional facilities, and a Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She serves as faculty at the graduate level and has published in a number of peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Foster-Smith is licensed to practice in: Pennsylvania (License # PS017805, New Jersey (License # 35SI00593800), and across the US by the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) through PsyPact #5421.
