About Dr. Groves

Dr. Groves is a Licensed Psychologist and Staff Psychologist at CEH who joined CEH in 2010, bringing experience in treating a wide array of psychiatric conditions, including adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders, as well as struggles with death and dying, and psychosomatic concerns.

Dr. Groves has been trained in a variety of theoretical orientations such as psychodynamic, interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral, and humanistic/existential psychotherapies. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic in nature, integrating treatment strategies to individually tailor treatment to the unique needs of her clients. She works with her clients to develop insights into their behaviors, relational patterns, and overall functioning. Treatment then focuses on how to utilize insights to alter behavior and decrease symptomology, in order to achieve more fulfilling relationships, and a deeper understanding of the self.

Dr. Groves has expertise in bariatric pre-operative assessments and psychotherapy to support individuals who seek weight loss and related behavioral changes, as well as psychological assessments for diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations. In addition, Dr. Groves has experience in treating an older adult population and individuals in residential physical rehabilitation programs.

Dr. Groves received her Bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University and her Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. She completed her clinical internship at Royal Oaks Hospital in Windsor, Missouri and post-doctoral fellowship at The Center for Emotional Health.
