About Dr. Genbauffe
Dr. Cara Genbauffe is a Licensed Psychologist and Staff Psychologist who joined CEH in 2021, bringing expertise in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, body-focused repetitive behaviors, and anxiety disorders.
Dr. Genbauffe provides psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults. As a therapist, Dr. Genbauffe utilizes evidence-based psychotherapies and aims to tailor treatment to the individual to maximize effectiveness. She is proficient in the following evidence-based treatments: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) Comprehensive Model for Behavioral Treatment (ComB), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Prolonged Exposure (PE).
Dr. Genbauffe received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester and her master’s and doctoral degrees from Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Coatesville Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where she completed the VA roll-out for Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Dr. Genbauffe completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Stress and Anxiety Services of New Jersey.
Dr. Genbauffe is a licensed psychologist in New Jersey (35SI00649600) and New York (024632). She also holds the Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) (PsyPact) #9950, which allows her to practice telehealth in numerous states across the country.
