About Ms. Holmes

Meghan Holmes is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides evidence-based therapy to adolescents and adults experiencing a range of mental health concerns. She takes a warm, compassionate, and supportive approach to treatment while also challenging clients to step outside of their comfort zones and make meaningful, positive, and lasting changes. Meghan works collaboratively with clients to better understand their symptoms, develop practical skills, and build a strong foundation that allows them to confidently navigate challenges both within and beyond therapy.

Meghan specializes in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders, including Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs), trichotillomania, Tourettic OCD, tic disorders, and Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). She also provides treatment for anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, trauma, and other related concerns. Meghan utilizes evidence-based approaches including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Comprehensive Model for Behavioral Treatment (ComB), Habit Reversal Training (HRT), and other behavioral interventions.

Meghan earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University. She began her clinical training at The Center for Eating Disorders, working with adolescents and adults experiencing eating disorders and co-occurring concerns. She later provided eating disorder treatment at Eating Recovery Center before transitioning into a Clinical Manager role at Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center. In this role, Meghan provided direct clinical care while leading and supervising the counseling team, supporting staff development, coordinating clinical services, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care.

Meghan then transitioned to outpatient practice at The Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington, where she worked with children and families, adolescents, and adults. During her time at BTC, she further developed her specialization in OCD and related disorders, including BFRBs, trichotillomania, Tourettic OCD, tic disorders, and BDD.

Meghan believes therapy should be a space where clients feel understood, supported, and challenged to grow. Her goal is not only to help clients reduce symptoms, but also to provide them with the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to navigate future challenges independently and build a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling.

Megan is licensed to practice in New Jersey, Maryland, and Virginia.
