Conceptualizing and Treating OCD with Inference-Based CBT (ICBT)
This is a live interactive webinar presentation via Zoom.
In this workshop, an evidence-based alternative to ERP will be presented. Inference-based CBT is a unique process-based cognitive treatment specifically designed for OCD. Role-plays and case-based discussions will demonstrate how to identify and treat the primary reasoning error (inferential confusion) that leads to the construction of and absorption in obsessional doubts. Workshop leaders will demonstrate how obsessions are created by inferences rather than intrusions, how one’s feared self-perception drives those inferences, how to sequence out a clients obsessional narrative, distinguish between reality-based doubts and obsessional doubts, and reduce inferential confusion through process-based cognitive interventions.
Participation in this program will enable you to:
- Conceptualize OCD from an Inference-Based CBT model.
- Identify and treat the reasoning processes that construct obsessions.
- Sequence your clients obsessional narratives and identify the primary obsessiobal doubt driving their OCD.
