Introduction to the Phenomenology and Treatment of Hoarding Disorder

Hoarding Disorder is a complex and challenging difficulty from which as many as 2% to 4% of the population suffer. However, access to evidence-based psychological treatment and other important support resources are frequently limited. This presentation will provide a primer to understanding the phenomenology and treatment of this often-hidden problem.

Participation in this program will enable you to:

  • Define the diagnostic criteria for DSM-5’s Hoarding Disorder diagnosis.
  • Describe the phenomenology of Hoarding Disorder.
  • Describe Hoarding-specific Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

CE Credit: 2.5 hours of CE credit is available for attendees who are present for the entire program.

Dr Marla W. Deibler

Marla Deibler, PsyD, ABPP is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Board-Certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology, and Founder/Executive Director of The Center for Emotional Health of Greater Philadelphia. Dr. Deibler serves on the Faculty of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) of the International OCD Foundation. She serves as President of the Board of Directors of OCD NJ, the NJ affiliate of the IOCDF, Consultant for the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome, Visiting Clinical Supervisor at the Rutgers University Psychological Services Clinic, and Executive Council member of the ACBS OCD SIG. She is co-author of The BFRB Recovery Workbook.
