SPACE Intervention Basics

This is a live interactive webinar presentation.

Developed out of Yale University, SPACE is an evidence-based therapy that treats a wide range of anxiety disorders, OCD, and picky eating. This training is a special opportunity to learn effective ways of addressing their children’s anxiety, without children present in sessions. You will learn ways to help parents increase supportive communication, decrease accommodations, set healthy boundaries, and improve daily functioning.

At the completion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Learn how and why the SPACE intervention was developed
  • Learn the objectives/goals of SPACE
  • Understand the SPACE treatment outline
  • Incorporate the concepts of unilateral decision making, personal boundary, support, and accommodation reductions in clinical practice.

CE Credit: 1.5 hours of CE credit is available for attendees who are present for the entire live program.

Target Audience: Psychologists, Social Workers, Other Mental Health Professionals.

This is an Intermediate Level Course.
Course Delivery: This live webinar is fully interactive. Attendees may ask and answer questions throughout the presentation and participate in instructor-led discussions.

Dr. Betsy Feinberg

Dr. Betsy Feinberg is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director of the Center for Emotional Health’s FamilyCare Center. Dr. Feinberg received her Doctoral and Master’s Degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and her Master of Science in Education in Psychological Services and school counselor certifications from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Feinberg is a Beck Institute Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Clinician (BICBT-CC), a distinguished achievement demonstrating her commitment to the evidence-based treatment of children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Feinberg is also trained in the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) Program, from the Yale Child Study Center. She offers parent-based treatment for children and adolescents with anxiety, OCD, and related disorders.

Dr. Feinberg offers individual and parent-based psychological treatment and evaluation, supervision, program development, school-based services, consultation, and community education. She enjoys helping children, adolescents, and adults, cope with anxiety disorders, school-based challenges, coping with chronic medical conditions, and parenting.
