About Dr. Kircanski

Dr. Krista Kircanski is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Staff Psychologist at CEH. She holds an undergraduate degree in psychology and her master’s degree in clinical psychology from Boston University. She attended Pepperdine University’s clinical psychology doctoral program, earning her Psy.D. shortly before joining the CEH team as a postdoctoral fellow in 2015.

Dr. Kircanski brings to CEH clinical expertise in evidence-based treatments (CBT, ERP) for OCD, OCD-spectrum, and anxiety and mood disorders. She sees children, adolescents, and adults in both Cherry Hill and Princeton locations, on an outpatient (1x weekly) or intensive outpatient (2-3x weekly) basis as clinically indicated. In addition to her expertise in treating anxiety and related disorders, Dr. Kircanski has extensive experience providing empirically-supported treatments (PCIT, Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT skills) with children and adolescents with disruptive behavior disorders and those who have experienced trauma. Given the emotional and behavioral complexities that may manifest for individuals with moderate to severe anxiety, Dr. Kircanski finds that a comprehensive approach to treatment is important. For example, she often utilizes emotion regulation strategies, distress tolerance skills, mindfulness-based approaches, and behavior management plans with individuals who present for anxiety-focused treatment.

Dr. Kircanski received her academic clinical training in the cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety and related disorders from the UCLA Child Anxiety, OCD, and Tic Disorders Program and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. She has extensive experience providing CBT and evidence-based treatments in intensive treatment settings, and has worked in residential treatment centers, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, intensive outpatient programs, and has completed rotations in the psychological assessment of lifetime anxiety disorders in a major research institution. Dr. Kircanski has experience in teaching and supervising beginner and advanced psychology graduate students in both therapy and assessment contexts. She has been certified by the TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors in the treatment of trichotillomania and other BFRBs, such as skin picking and nail biting.

Dr. Kircanski is licensed to practice as a psychologist in both: New Jersey (35SI00572600) and Pennsylvania (PS018141).
