About Dr. Scherr
Dr. Stephanie Rabin Scherr is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and serves at the Clinical Director at CEH Cherry Hill.
Dr. Scherr earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University and her Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. She joined the CEH family in 2013, bringing expertise in various evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapies (CBTs), including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Therapy (CT). Dr. Scherr has extensive experience treating patients with OCD, social anxiety disorder, PTSD, panic disorder, phobias, and generalized anxiety disorder. She also has expertise in treating patients with trichotillomania, excoriation (skin picking disorder), and tic disorders. In addition, Dr. Scherr has refined skills in family therapy, CBT for insomnia, nightmare re-scripting therapy, social skills training, smoking cessation treatment, and behavioral activation for depression. Dr. Scherr has provided psychological services in a wide variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, hospitals, research clinics, and private practice.
Dr. Scherr has been involved in clinical research since 2006 and has presented at national and local conferences. She completed a research fellowship at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and has published original research in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Contextual Behavioral Science, The American Journal of Psychiatry, Biological Psychiatry, Behaviour Research and Therapy, the Journal of Anxiety Disorders, and the Journal of Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders.
Dr. Scherr regularly co-facilitates monthly trichotillomania, OCD, and weight-loss support groups with other CEH staff. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, Association for Psychological Science, International OCD Foundation, Philadelphia Behavior Therapy Association, Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology, and the TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors.
