About Dr. Deibler
Marla W. Deibler, PsyD is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and is Board-Certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology. She is the Founder and Executive Director of The Center for Emotional Health of Greater Philadelphia.
Dr. Deibler serves on the Faculty of the Behavior Therapy Training Institute (BTTI) of the International OCD Foundation. Dr. Deibler also serves as President of the Board of Directors of OCD NJ, the NJ affiliate of the International OCD Foundation, Consultant at the New Jersey Center for Tourette Syndrome and Associated Disorders, Visiting Clinical Supervisor at the Rutgers University Psychological Services Clinic, and as a member of the Executive Council for the Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences OCD Special Interest Group. She is an author of The BFRB Recovery Workbook: A Step-By-Step Guide to Effective Recovery from Hair Pulling, Skin Picking, Nail Biting, and Other Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors.
Dr. Deibler holds a doctorate in clinical psychology with a concentration in health/neuropsychology and a postdoctoral master of science degree in clinical psychopharmacology. Her formative experiences include both scientific research as a three-year Intramural Research Training Award Fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) as well as clinical intervention at the Children’s National Medical Center, Kennedy Krieger Institute at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center, Behavior Therapy Center of Greater Washington, and Temple University Hospital. Dr. Deibler began her career in both academic and clinical roles as Assistant Professor at Temple University Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, and Allied Health. She is a former member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the TLC Foundation for Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors and Faculty member of TLC’s Professional Training Institute (PTI).
Dr. Deibler is a frequent media contributor and has appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, Today with Megyn Kelly, A & E’s Hoarders, TLC’s Hoarding: Buried Alive, and Swift Justice with Nancy Grace, in addition to regional news broadcasts. She has been quoted by print and online media, including sources such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Life Ed with Maria Shriver, CNN, HuffPost, Today, and Vice, among more. She has authored articles for publications, such as Slate, book chapters, and research findings in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Deibler is dedicated to educating other professionals and the greater community about mental health and wellness. She is a frequent professional presenter.
